Ah the poor hypochondriac, another day survived, another tomorrow to dread.

As a med student who has come down with a nasty case of medstudentitis quite a few times, I can very much empathize!

You managed to evoke a good amount of sympathy for this hypochondriac, usually a much maligned figure.

A friend of ours is beset by somatic worries — but what makes him difficult to be around sometimes is his apparent *disappointment* when given his umpteenth clean bill of health. Also, these days? The waste in terms of money, time, and energy that is expended on his behalf is frustrating for me, someone with physical challenges who has been politely priced out of insurance coverage.

Anyway, I’m sure you deal with us… er, ummm… THEM on a daily basis. Do hypochondriacs normally have so much insight into their actual problem?

Thanks for another great piece.

When you do…you’d better give me a heads up. I’m still waiting for Sid to get with the program and publish another one of his works. Keep writing Dr. Charles.
